The Campus Co-Founders

Dear Parents,
The Campus stands alone among early childhood centers, offering an exclusive physical education environment grounded by a relevance-based academic curriculum. Our small size allows us to educate and care about your child as if our own. We realize the enormity of the responsibility you grant us and I speak for each and every Campus teacher in pledging our best effort to help your child grow into a happy, healthy, responsible adult.

Co-Founder

Joanie (Metzger) Weghorst, together with her dad, Jeff Metzger, co-founded The Campus in January 2013. She earned her Bachelors degree in Business from the University of Tennessee and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Xavier University. After spending time in the public school system as an early childhood teacher, Joanie found that there was a need for an early learning atmosphere that focused on nurturing not just the academics, but also the physical and social-emotional development of young children. With extensive and varied experience in early childhood classrooms, Joanie has made it a priority to ensure each Campus child not only exercises their body, but also their ability to be an independent thinker, problem solver and well-rounded individual.  It is her goal that your children graduate from The Campus with command of the academics, physically fit and confident!

Joanie and her husband, Todd, have four children, Charlie, born February, 2012, Annabel, born January, 2014, Ruby, born March, 2016 and Oliver, born September, 2017 who are all (current or graduated) happy, healthy, responsible students of The Campus at Kids First! In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family.
